Win XP Pro File Encryption

I've used Win XP Pro encryption with out problems for about a year. About two
weeks ago I began receiving the following message with I try to encrypt
files: "Recovery policy configured for this system contains invalid recovery
certificates." I've search and found some information on this error in the
Microsoft help files (on line) but I could use some help understanding how to
use the information in the help files and fix this problem.

Any help and plain language answers would be appreciated.

Encryption usue a certificate to function but its alos time sensitive meaning
it will stop functing until that certificate is updated
