Error message when trying to encrypt files

Dan

I have a XP Pro SP2 Client on a windows 2000 SP4 domain. I installed
Certification Authority on the server and added a few users as Recovery
Agents. When i try to encrypt a file on my XP client i get this error;
An error occured applying attributes to the file:
Path\File
Recovery policy configured for this system contains invalid recovery
certificate.

Any Suggestions on how i go about to resolve this.

Thier is a fix for encryption if SP2 is installed,the # kb912784

That KB article has to do with a specific error

"When you use Microsoft DirectShow and an AVStream device driver to play an
encrypted multimedia stream in Microsoft Windows XP, an access violation
occurs in the KsPinGetLeadingEdgeStreamPointer function."

What in the world does this have to do with the OPs problem with EFS?

To the OP, I'm sorry, but I don't have a resolution to your problem. Andrew
