I have a 4 computer network 2 Xp HOme and 2 Pro. I want to store e-mail,
files, music, etc. on the Xp Pro machine and use it as a server. I would
also like a domain but from what I've read that is impossible with Home
edition. But I just read that Home can access domain recources but not log
in. Help me as I'm very confused. Chris

Well, neither Home or Pro XP can act as a domain controller. You would need
W2K or W2003 server.

You may though share files and other resources in a Workgroup environment
(aka peer-to-peer network). Repost with some details on what you want to
accomplish.

Why do you think you need a domain? A domain requires a Windows Server
operating system to host the domain. A domain is not necessary to simply
share files between any two computers, no matter what operating system they
run.

I will be getting a huge hard drive with a computer so i wanted to be able
to share files, stream music and DVD's over the network. The domain was
just a question as they had it at my dad's work and I was interested.
