Win XP printer problem

Richard

Would appreciate any solution to an irritating thing going on with my PC.

Irritating, not serious.

Running under XP Pro

Have several printer drives installed, both real and logical printers.

Default printer is a Samsung ML-1210 laser (highly recommended mono printer
at the price)

If I load an application such as M$ Word the printer dialog box is
superimposed on it. It seems to come up whatever you do. Can delete it

to get rid of it and carry on normally.

Whichever printer I set as default, the Samsung is the one that pops up.

Have tried unloading Samsung drivers and reinstalling - no change.

Wasn't always like this but cannot place what caused the change.

Guess I have a gremlin in the registry - any idea where it will be?

Just a thought. Is there something in the XP start-up that calls the printer
before you even get to start using your programs? My thought is that if your
printer is being called on start-up any defaults that you have set will be
ignored.

Good luck
