Win XP Installer Problem?

I am having trouble installing Roxio Easymedia 7.5. Roxio support thinks a
problem within my Windows Installer is making the Roxio instalation routine
malfunction. They also cite as an indicator the fact that I can't use
Windows Automatic Update. Whenever I try to install an update received via
AU it fails. I have to go to WU web site and manually down load the patch
then install it. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hi it seems like you might have some problem with windows installer go to
microsoft updates site not windows update
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/
and go though that and run the updates there and download everything and
restart the computer it should download a new windows installer 3.1 and then
you should be able to install the roxi easymedia 7.5 OK if this does not help
you then I will let you know what else to do ok thanks.

Also, try the Installer Cleanup Utility:
