Win XP Home Ed - standby & hibernate

Since I applied the latest Windows update, Standby and Hibernate no longer
work. The monitor still shuts off at the prescribed interval but Standby &
Hibernate will not "activate" at their prescribed interval.

hi Bert,

And if you unisntall the updates, does the function go back to normal
operation? If so, then some piece of hardware or the driver for it is not
properly supported under SP2. The solution may involve a new driver from the
hardware vendor. It may also may involve not using those functions if none
is available.
