win xp game controllers

Question:

Why does Win XP not list a game controller icon in Device
Manager?
When I try to use my Logitech, duel action game
controller it will not register in game. When I try to
configure it in profiler, message says "no game
controller in Device Mgr." In Device Mgr. under "Sound,
Video and Game controllers" there is no game control
icon, only audio and video icons.

There is a Game Controllers item in Control Panel. Check there. It won't
be listed in Device Manager unless your system successfully installs the
hardware.
