Win XP boot

When starting the system we get the error "....Windows
failed to start succesfully.." From there you get the
option to start in safe mode and try a restore point.
After selecting a restore point, the system will boot
back into Safe mode stating the restore was succesfull,
and boot to the desktop, in Safe mode. Attempting a
normal reboot from Safe mode begins the loop all over
with the same error message. I know typically when you
cannot boot to Windows it generally indicates hardware
issues (this emphasized even more since we can get into
Safe mode with no third party drivers running). Searching
through the Device Manager reveals no obvious issues;
attempting a diagnostic reboot does no good, nor does a
clean boot all from MSCONFIG. Apparently these people
just upgraded to AOL 9.0 (AAARRRGGGGGHHHHHH)! That SEEMS
to be about when this issue started. Also had them
unplug the printer and try restarting, no good. Help...!
Thanks much!

I cant even count the number of times new versions of AOL have trashed
PCs. Generally uninstalling the new version may help.

Unfortunatley with AOL a simple uninstall does not always
work as AOL is so DAMNED invasive. It usually requires
much time cleaning the registry of all AOL instances too.
Gee...I can't imagine why AOL has lost so many customers
the past year or so!! It's CRAP!!!!!!!!!!
Sorry...just venting! :>)
