Win XP and programs???!

Hello!

Can somebody help me? I use win XP pro and every time I install a new
program (ex. adobe audition, Easy video splitter, etc. except office)
it works fine for a while, I can start it for 2 or 3 times with no
problem..., but if I wait for 30min. or more, or if I shut down the
computers or restart it, I can't open this program again!!! I have to
install it again and after this it works fine again till next restart.
Does somebody know what is the point???

That sounds pretty suspicious to me..
How clean is this machine?
How secure is it?
