Somebody posted saying they were an old geek but a basic user of win
xp
to learn win xp, when I first got it I raced through an Easy Steps book
on it. Maybe a "visual quickstart guide" too. A few other basic
aspects are standard. though not covered there.
Off the CD - Install , and XP (NT really) has a repair option
and recovery console - since win xp can't boot to dos. 3 useful
commands there like fixmbr(equiv to 9x's fdisk /mbr ).
And, NT you should use cmd.exe not command.exe. 9x(which i knew
before) uses command.exe
Not sure the best way to go about the Networking side. Besides aiming
to see files on other comps, and googling for instructions.
The other thing is the win xp crashing issue. event logs.
A few annoyances like not hiding extensions and not restarting if crash
, and, that's the main stuff I think, dunno what else there is!
