Win won't boot how to Reloading win xp-home

B

Bill

My Computer with windows xp-home will not boot, it starts
to come up then just reboots before the desktop come's up.

In the past with win 98se I just reloaded windows and the
problesms were fixed, with the previousely loaded
programs still intact.

When I put in the boot cd it acts like it is going to
replace the hadrdrive with a new fresh copy of windows so
that I can reload the data and programs all over. I dont
want to do this, just to have it fix the boot problem.

How do I do that???

Hi Bill

After you reboot next time, keep hitting F8 to see if can access the screen that offers 'Last Known Good Configuration'. Failing that, try a System Restore via Safe Mode - using F8 again.
