Win ME, unpatched (its not my PC; don't tell me to do this first!). He
reported that, after installing Comcast broadband connection CD (and going
to cable from dialup) and running fine for a couple days, he began to get
error messages, which occurred so often it would freeze the PC, saying This
window is busy, Closing it may cause problem with this program...etc. and
the window was titled Internet Explorer (at least it LOOKED official, but
I've never seen it before). Every time you closed this error msg window, 2
more popped up, until it froze.
We did Norton LiveUpdate, scanned, and it cleaned viruses out. Updated and
ran both AdAware and Spy Box S&D and it found 200+ things, we deleted them
all.
Now things seem better, but as soon as I click on connect to comcast (their
icon which calls IEXPLORE.exe) I get those error msg windows back again. And
one biggie (not seen earlier during troubleshooting), IE gray error window
reports unable to locate MSLB32.dll, and then it exits.
I've searched internet for mslb32.dll (and yes I am sure I spelled it
right), and searched this newsgroup. No luck.
Can anyone help? Not sure of IE version, going to try installing 6 if y'all
think it may help (if he doesn't have it already). Anyone else had this
happen?
