Win Explrr shuts down w JPEG & TIFF

I'm using XP Home on a 2.7 gig machine. Just recently
(after a MS update) Windows Explorer shuts down if I try
to open a JPEG of TIFF photo file. No problem with PSD
(Photoshop). This will happen if I'm in a program trying
to open the file or if I just go to the folder. Any ideas?

Since you have PhotoShop...

Try the following...

Right click on a .jpg file and choose Properties.
Click the Photoshop Image tab and uncheck the
"Generate Thumbnails" button, then click OK.

Thanks soooooo much. It works fine. Is this what I've
been reading about...Win Explrr and Intrnt Explrr having
difficulties with thumbnails? This just popped up
recently, right after an XP update. Did MS unfix the fix
or is there a way to get the thumbnail (thumbs.db) back?

You're welcome.

PhotoShop caused your crashes...not an XP update.

As for thumbs.db...read the following article.
