Win, Divx, Eudora Sudden Problems after ATI 10.7 Drivers?

Hi,

Today suddenly IE won't start up again. Also DIVX Plus Player at
startup comes with a message that its update doesn't work anymore.
And Eudora crashes as well. All this programs connect to the internet
somehow. And then fail.
Besides that, windows product registration works no more, as per its
message.

Yesterday I installed Catalyst 10.7 drivers and its control center. I
installed 10.6 now but that doesnt change anything.

A re-install of Eudora didn't work...

There have been no windows updates since yesterday.

Any idea where to look, what to do?

Uninstall the only change you did (You say Catalyst software for your ATI
video card) and *then* use System Restore to go back to yesterday (yes -
uninstall and *THEN* System Restore.)

I forgot I also did a CCleaner sweep. But I don't think that is it.

I figured since all these programs require some internet acces dll,
api or fuction from windows, it had something to do with IE8. Since
that is quite tied in with windows and the internet options.

So I uninstalled IE 8 and then Eudora worked again. I am pretty sure
it was IE8. If that hadn't helped, I would have used a system restore.

Thanks for the answers though.
