this is an XP newgroup
so you should ask on a win98 group...
however if all you need is a bootdisk you can get one from www.bootdisk.com

A boot disk is 'not' going to re-install Windows 98. It will get you to the
DOS prompt but, without the installations disks or CD you will not be able
to re-install.

Locate the Windows 98 newsgroup and post your problem there. While your post
is short it doesn't give a lot of information. For anyone to give any help
they will really need to know whether you received any error messages during
boot up. A description of what is happening would be useful. Also have you
installed any new software or hardware prior to his problem occurring? When
you boot the machine do you hear any 'beeps' from the pc? If so how many.
The more information you can give the better.

Not all together true, a better wording would be: without the setup
files. If the 98 setup files are on the hard disk and reachable, then the
OS can be re-installed. Of course that would depend on the purpose for a
re-install and if the HD is going, then it's a lost cause if the files
can't be accessed to at least copy.
