Did you use a upgrade version of XP Home (comes in a green Microsoft
box) and did you tell it to upgrade the existing Windows?

If you installed an OEM version of Windows or if you told the upgrade
version to install a new copy of Windows then your previous programs
and files would not have been carried forward to the new install.

But with an upgrade version installed as such then all of the
installed items should be there, except for those which were
identified as not being compatibile with Windows XP. There would
normally be very few if any of these and you would have been notified
about them during the install.

Look in the Program Files folder on your hard drive. Are there folder
and files for the "missing" applications? Did your data files,
including emails, show up okay in XP Home?

The answers to the above questions will help to identify the cause of
your problems.

Good luck
