Hi all.
I have a win 2000 server (actually Small Business Server 2000) in which the
event viewer only displays event in the System log. Choose any other log and
while there seem to be events there they are all blank. the window shows all
white until you click into it when a line becomes highlighted blue but with
no text.

Someone has told me that this is a known issue with SP4. Have you heard of
this or do you know if there is any cure?

thanks in advance.

Ed

The temporary fix;
You might try changing the file properties to "Overwrite as needed"

Then; Control Panel|Administrative Tools|Services|Event Log Service|General,
set the "Startup Type:" to "Disabled" restart the pc, then delete (or move)
the corrupt *.evt file(s) from %windir%\system32\config then set the Event
Log Service "Startup Type:" back to "Automatic", restart for effect.

The more permanent fix;

Thanks Dave.

We have not had the opportunity to take the server down yet but we'll try it
ASAP.

Cheers
