win 2k pc shuts down unxpectedly

I have an IBM PC with win 2k / SP 2. The PC does not stay
up for more than several minutes after logon and will
start to power off constantly. I have change the HD and
also removed all device but MOBO, HD, floppy but I still
can't have the PC up and stable for more than a couple
minutes. I have even used the recovery disk install on
the new HD but the PC eventually powers off. I am able to
keep the PC up and running in DOS with Win 98 boot disk or
other utilities. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check for the blaster virus. You might have to disable the
RPC service from shutting down/restarting your computer
before you can do anything.
