Win 2000 slooow after upgrading Spyware Doctor to version 6

The system beame extremely slow. Everything, open a program can take
minutes, typing text takes many seconds to show up, etc.
I tried uninstalling Spyware Doctor, the machine just sat there displaying a
dialog saying "Stopping Spyware Doctor" for about half an hour so I gave up.
Ran Registry Booster and fixed a number of error, but still the same
problem.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks DL,

After I had run the RegistryBooster I tried uninstalling again and this time
the uninstall worked, and now the problem is fixed.
I guess Safe Mode would have been a safer way to go though, although I have
never had any problems with RegistryBooster.
