Our Win 2000 Server gives the following when we try to login:

-----------------------
The system can not log you on due to the following error:

The network request is not support
-----------------------

If we reboot after this happens, we can login again, but the next day it
locks up again. Over 3 weeks, its happened 3 times. Any clues???

Thanks!!

Check Event Viewer for error details.

Odd that the system log is empty. Might be the NIC is failing or driver
issue.

| After rebooting the server again, the log is clean. This is a pretty

What does your tracert and ping from the server to the workstation look
like? When pinging, try an infinite count and let it run for about an
hour...

also, things to check include:
a) the dns setup on the workstation
b) the local clock on the workstation (with AD/kerberos, the clock on the
workstation and authentication server must be within 5 minutes of eachother)

Hello,

I think this is currently a general problem. We have severals clients with
this problem.
Also, if we search on the internet (this newsgroup, experts-exchange, and
other sites) we find many (hundreds) people who have the same trouble. So I'm
kinda sure it's a serious bug/problem.
The only thing a didn't found until now, is a solution!
If someone has a solution, please let me know!
