Win 2000 Pro - svchost.exe error

After a successful installation every time I start the
Windows the following message appears: "svchost.exe has
generated errors. You will have to restart the system. An
error log is being created". Then the computer gets
suspended and there is no response to any commands, so I
have to shut it down manually. What is it? A virus? I had
Windows 98 before, but I cleaned it out. Anybody has any
idea?

This is one of the symptoms of the Blaster worm that
is "blasting" all of us. Download and install SP4 and
security patches from windows update and install good
firewall. I've been fighting it since Monday. It is just
affcting Windows 2000 and Xp computers.
