Win 2000 Pro can't find Network.

I have a Windows 2000 Pro PC on our Workgroup. It connects to the internet
fine, but now I need to map it to another PC and I have run into problems.
This PC has administrative privileges. I started by going into Windows
Explorer and right clicking on the drive I wanted to share. The word
"Sharing" was missing from the list of options. I then went into "My Network
Places" and click on "View Entire Network" I get the following error message:
"Unable to browse the network. The network is not present or not started". I
right clicked on My Computer and then clicked on Properties / System
Properties / Network Identification / Properties and the box where you change
from Workgroup to Domain, or rename the Workgroup or Domain is grayed out. I
then went into Administrative Tools / Services and I "started" all of the
services that involve networking, and I set each to "automatic", but nothing
changed. Any help in getting my PC so I can get it to see the network would
be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ted

Ted,

Start with the Network Components and Services section of my article:
<http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#Components>
http://nitecruzr.blogspot.com/2005/05/troubleshooting-network-neighborhood.html#Components

Then go thru the article in general:

Finally, provide diagnostics from this computer, and from 2 others in the
workgroup with no problems, as suggested in the assisted Help section of the
article:
