Win 2000 on Home Network

I have two XP Home tower PCs on a home network and want
to link in a Win2K Toshiba Laptop, I cannot use the
Network Set Up Disk that the XP host generates, and do
not seem able to find an alternative wsy to configure the
laptop to get access to the host XP PCs shared files and
the printer - any ideas (I can't seem to find anything
relevant on the MS support site)
