Win 2000 Office 2000 shut down problems

According to document 304183 Outlook 2002 does not shut
down properly when you try to quit or restart Windows
2000. Applications should be closed manually before
shutting down Windows.

Is there any way to solve or overcome that nuisance?

In reading the Article referenced it does not mention this as a problem
for Windows 2000 SP3 or SP4. Also it is not a problem IF you close
Outlook BEFORE you try to shutdown Windows. Also it isn't listed as a
problem with Windows XP. Hope this summary of some available options is
sufficient.

I instaleed both SP3 and SP4, and still have the problem.
Closing Outlook manually before shutting down Windows is
OK but I want to autimatically close all applications when
shutting down windows.

Then it sounds like your remaining options are to upgrade to Windows XP
or use a different e-mail program.
