Will stop showing in the system tray

I installed this on two of my computers and one of them
is fine, but it will only work for a few days. After that
it will not show up in the sys tray and it is not hidden,
it is just not there. Even if I try to start it manually
it will just bring up the program, not the sys tray icon.
I have the real-time protection enabled and would just
like to know that it is working. Why would it just
disappear on one and not the other computer?

Not a bug with the app. Instead it is a long standing,
and well documented bug with XP.

Logging off and logging back on will cause the systray
icon to show, along with a number of other icons that
don't normally show up in the systray.

I think this might have something to do with XP's
Customize feature of the systray.
