Will setting up Vistas Windows Mail make other identities unreachable on my XP computers?

If multiple computers are checking the same email account(s),
whichever one completes its email download first will make those
emails unavailable to the other PCs. To fix that problem, go to Tools,
Accounts, select your mail account, Properties, Advanced,
select "Leave a copy of messages on server."

Repeat the above on any computer that's checking the same
email account(s).

I have 3 other identities attached to my main email identity on my XP
desktop, using Outlook Express. One is my son's email and one is my
husband's email. I just received my new Dell Vista Laptop and want to
access my email. Apparently I can only do this through Windows Mail on this
new computer, as Vista does not use Outlook Express. If I set up the
Windows Mail on this new laptop is there a possibility that my son and
husband will no longer be able to access their email accounts on their XP
desktops? I have been afraid to set it up on my new laptop.

Thanks you :)

Just set up the account information you have for your Identity and then do
not set theirs up and it should work okay. You can migrate your Identities
messages to the new computer. See www.oehelp.com/backup.aspx and the
section on WinMail for details.
