Usually? No... You will need to do all updates again though. Keeping
installed applications and data is one of the key benefits to the repair
installation.

Get rid of the Beta software. Use HijackThis, MSconfig, Task Manager and
check Services (in Computer Management) to see what's loading and
running. Check Event Viewer for errors that might point to something.
Use more than one updated a/v program and scan in Safe Mode. Run Disk
Cleanup, manually delete temp and temporary internet files. Run CHKDSK
/F. Run SFC /Scannow.
Be aware that if your machine has any malware or viruses a repair
install will not help.
