I have a XP Media Center Edition 2005 computer. It appears to have a
corrupted file and I was going to boot from the CD and do a repair. I
looked around but can not find the CD... Can I use a regular XP
Professional CD to do the repair or does it have to the Media Center..

Thanks

Check your documentation or the web site for info. NOrmally the Media center
is the first thing installed so it'll create the partitions, etc. that are
needed.
I don't know that the XP disk will help; your mfr's site should have the
info you need though.

Often you'll find excellent advice on a newsgroup.
Before you use that advice though, consider the
ramifications of it being wrong or even dangerous;
how important IS that to you?
ALWAYS verify and confirm ANY advice from a
newsgroup!

No - it needs to be the proper media center installation media.

Always make backup copies of your installation media and store the originals
in a safe place.
