Will real My Docs pls stand up

R

Ron Patterson

Everywhere I look in Windows Explorer - I have My Documents.

#1 First under Desktop is My Documents at the very top of the directory
"tree". This has folders in it I chose to keep in My Docs.

#2 Then it appears again under Desktop\C:\Documents and Settings\Ron
Patterson
(user) \My Documents

#3 Then, near the bottom after the other drive letters is Ron Patterson's
(user) Documents which is basically the folders I keep in My Documents

This is all just too much. Why three entries? How can I get rid of two
of these?
Not only is this aggravating but I never know which one of these three
Directories to back up.

The "My Documents" and "Ron Paterson's" documents entries are shortcuts to
the physical folder under "C:\Documents and Settings\Ron Patterson\My
Documents". Do not remove them as they are required by the system.

The "My Documents" is the one you would normally use, the "Ron Patterson's"
one is where other users can access your documents if they are logged on
(assuming you haven't made your documents private).
