Will Outlook 2003 emails transfer to Outlook 2007?

I want to export my Outlook 2003 files to my Macintosh, but I can't do that
because I have to install the Export feature from the CD and the CD drive on
my PC is broken. So I downloaded a trial copy of Office 2007, assuming that
the export feature will be in this and I won't have to install it separately.
I want to know if Outlook 2007 will read my old emails. I can't back them
up because the backup feature isn't installed either, so I decided to archive
my files since that is the only way I can back them up, although if I don't
need to archive them I'd prefer not to and I'll cancel the archive that is in
progress if it won't mess anything up to do that. Will Outlook 2007 read my
old emails, and/or will I it read the archive file created by Outlook 2003?

Archive is not a backup
In order to backup outlook data you simply copy the data files (pst) with
outlook closed
