Will not shutdown correctly

Hell all,

I have an Windows XP Pro machine that never had a problem shutting down. One
day I tried to do a shutdown and got a message stating "It is now safe to
turn off your computer". I never got that before. When I selected shutdown,
the computer shutdown as expected. It doesn't seem to be a software issue
(reformatted 4 times and using the second hard drive with different memory
and what not) and I'm not sure where else to look. I can't just push the
power button to turn it off, it must be switched off in the rear at the main
power switch and it's not in a very accessible place. Any ideas?

Thanks Wes,

That fixed the problem. It's been so long since I came across this problem
that I forgot how to fix it.

Thanks again

Dunnie
