Will not shut down

I have 2 computers a laptop and desktop both running XP
Pro. They are connected to a W2k3 Server. Just in the
past few days both of them started hanging during
shutdown/restart. Both of them get to the Windows is
shutting down screen but when that disapears nothing else
happens. I have to hit the power button to finish tuning
the off/ or restart them. Anyone have any ideas on how
to fix this??
