I have windows XP home and with the latest updates and virus free computer.
I have P4 dell with 640 DDR 2700 SDRAM. My problem is anytime I try to
access SYMANTEC website it will give this error saying. The page cannot be
displayed
The page you are looking for is currently unavailable. The Web site
might be experiencing technical difficulties, or you may need to adjust your
browser settings.
The funny think is I double check on another PC with Symantec's
webpage is down and it was not.

But if I go on any other website I am okay. I just can not go on that
website. I find that very strange. I go any URL excepts Symantec webpage. I
can log on to yahoo.com, Google.com, latimes.com, download.com and etc, etc.
Can someone help me out. I have the lastest virus definition AVG Anti-Virus
Software. I scan it and there is no viruses. I also have the lastest virus
definitions too.

Check C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc for a file named HOSTS with no
extension. (Not Hosts.sam)
Make sure Windows is set to show hidden files and folders and is NOT set to
hide extensions for known file types.
If HOSTS exists, rename it to HOSTS.OLD
Reboot an try again.

Or, In a Cmd window, enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear your TIF also, and re-boot.

Open the Internet Options applet in Control Panel
Uncheck "Enable third-party browser extensions" on the Advanced tab.
You may also have to set the Home Page to about:blank

Then eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:

**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:

If trying everything at that site does not fix the problem please post back
in the same thread.
