can't access antivirus sites

After cleaning the sasser virus from my computer, it
worked fine for a day. Then it reverted to not allowing
me to access ANY antivirus websites i.e. symantec, mcafee,
computer assoc, f-secure, etc. It doesn't give me an
error, it treats it like an msn search and says that it
can't find whatever the name is. It was doing this before
I cleaned it up but stopped once it was completed, so at
that point I was able to update my virus definitions. Now
I am back to being unable to do so.
Any suggestions regarding this? I have no trouble going
to any other sites at all. I have run ad aware and spybot
to clean spyware also, so I have run out of options that I
know how to attempt. ????? Thanks for any help that any
of you can provide.

Look at your HOSTS file. Just HOSTS- no extension- not HOSTS.SAM- not
LMHOSTS.SAM. It will open with notepad. Make sure that hidden and system
files are visible. Edit out unwanted redirect entries or put #space in front
of an entry to disable it, then File> Save.

More on the HOSTS file at:
