Will duplicates be archived during Auto Archive session?

I have two scenarios under which duplicates "could" be archived and would appreciate any help or at least a better understanding of both. I am using Outlook 2003 in both cases.

Secenario #1: I have about a dozen PST files from various data backups dating back to 1996 (when Outlook was FREE). I am importing all the old PST files using the "Do not import duplicates" option. There is certainly duplicate information in the old files. Lest's say I were to import file1.pst from 1998 then perform a manual Archive Now. All those old email and task items will be moved to the Archive Folder. Now, let's say I import basically the same information from file2.pst, aslo from 1998. Would the next Archive session move those duplicates to the Archive folders or would the Import function recognize them as duplicates and not import them at all?

Scenario #2: I have a Hotmail account and an Earthlink ISP mail account, both are visible in my Oulook folders, but do appear as separate sets of folders (e.g. Hotmail folders have their own InBox, Sent Mail, etc). When I send an email, that sent mail is duplicated in my Hotmail Folders-Sent Items folder and my regular Outlook Personal Folders-Sent Items folder. Will an Archive operation duplicate those Sent Items in the Archive Folder?

Any help, advice, or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Scenario #1 is for me personally and Scenario #2 is for a friend. Thanks in advance.

Archiving does not perform any duplicate checking. The steps you outline
would create a mess. Why are you importing those older .pst files?
