I am currently using a g4 ti4400 128 meg card. I was thinking aobut
upgrading to a Radeon 9800 pro in April(Birthday). Will I get a big increase
in performance on alot of games*running 2.6ghz. Or should i just wait til
the next line of video cards come out... and when will that be. Thanks

Dont know about the new line of vid cards, but i'll try to answer the next
question :)

You'll see an increase in performance, though maybe not in actual framerate
:) It will be in the number of details you can use, and the amount of FSAA
and AF :)

Those last two options are really great... Playing BF1942 at 1280*960, using
4x FSAA and 16x AF is...... stunning :)

I think Thomas answered your question about performance boost quite nicely.
With regards to the next line/generation of video cards, yes, they should be
out in the March to April time frame. The next cycle after that (product
refresh?) should happen in Q3 or maybe as late as Q4 of this year, but that
will be with the introduction of PCI Express for Graphics which will replace
AGP entirely. That's not to say AGP is dead by any stretch of the
imagination, but PCI Express will definitely be faster and will only mature
further with time. It has been said that the first high-end cards for PCI
Express will have double the performance of the 9800 Pro. I personally
would not go near PCI Express when it first comes out - let someone else be
the guinea pig. :)

I am thinking of upgrading my ti4400 to an ATI 9800 Pro, but I want to wait
until the next card comes out to take advantage of the price drop.
Although....it has dropped $100 (to $299) in the past month. I hope your
March/April timeframe is correct, because I've noticed with some of the
latest game releases that my 4400 has become somewhat 'framerate-deficient'.
