Wildcard in HOSTS file?

Is it possible to wildcard a domain in a hosts file so that all subdomains
are pointed to a specific IP?

ie


192.168.0.1 bob.com
192.168.0.1 www.bob.com
192.168.0.1 another.bob.com


is replaced by

192.168.0.1 *.bob.com


????
