WIA Logging wialog

Hey group

is there a clean way to disable the WIA logging ?!?!
my C:/wialog.txt grows and grows and grows ..

I did not find "wialog" in registry .. scanned all C:/windows files
found it only in vizmicro.dll and sti.dll ..
searched registry and web for vizmicro & stl ..
found scanner related entry at hklm\software\system\controlset\class\<GUID>
but no tags seem to be logging related

no idea what to do

can this logging really be an "always on" feature ?

You might try setting the WIA service to Manual instead of Automatic, if you
need WIA to run at all.

present.

you know that file may be of attribute "hidden" ?

Hey, would you mind looking inside services to tell us the start
command line of that service ?

mine is: C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe -k imgsvc

@wesley
even if manual mode, if scanner or digicam is used -> file grows again

THANX that did it - now there is silence inside wialog.txt !!!

funny that even after years one can have a complete miss with google :(

my mistake was to browse all the time for "DISABLE" LOGGING.. ha

thx !

@Rock
obviously your manufacturer decided to deliver software with trace flags set to '0'
