Why won't Outlook 2003 archive

When using Outlook 2003, an archive creates all the folders where old
messages should be, but doesn't move any messages. I've verified all my
settings and they are correct. I watch it run, but it ends very quickly and
no messages moved. Any ideas?

It's because the modified dates of the items you think should be archived
are newer than the date you chose for the archive function. Archiving does
not work on the received or created date of an item but on the modified
date, which normally isn't displayed.

Duh! I'm archiving data that is more than 6 months old. I KNOW the
hundreds of messages in my deleted folder really are six months old.

They may be 6mnths old but have you checked their 'modified dates' ?
You may have to modify yr msg window view/columns to see this.
