Why use Outlook versus other email applications?

Why do people choose Outlook over other email applications like Groupwise?
 
Never heard of groupwise, but Outlook has Contacts & calendar and is good for
business use and comes bundled with Office. Many people use Word, Excel, etc.

If it's just for mail, there is very little reason.
