why is there a limit for RULES AND ALERTS?

Need to increase the amout of rules and alerts in oulook. Why am i not able
to put more than only certain amout of RULES AND ALERTS??

The maximum size for rules and alerts has been upped in Outlook
2007/Exchange 2007 to 256 kb, configurable on Exchange. Nothing will be
done for current versions of Outlook.

Hello. Would this be the cause for Rules and Alerts not showing up in the
Tools menu after porting over a pst with a 380kb Rules and Alerts file? I am
not running exchange but rather running outlook locally.

I have tried creating a new pst but still no rules and alerts option is
avaible. I have re-installed many times after unistalling and cleaning all
instances of outlook.

Any thoughts on correcting the issue would be much appreciated.

For most versions of Outlook currently extant, the rules are kept in the PST
and not in a separate tile. How did you do the "porting"?

I have tried creating a new pst but still no rules and alerts option
is avaible. I have re-installed many times after unistalling and
cleaning all instances of outlook.

Have you tried a new mail profile?

I simply copied the PST to my new computer where I had installed ver 2007 and
then opened Outlook and used the File Open "Outlook Data File" from the File
menu. To my knowledge the rules and alerts were never available, but I
cannot confirm as I did not check the origianl pst I created on the new
computer before opening the one I had ported over. However, the rules and
alerts are not avaiable regardless of what pst file I have open.

how do you know it is 380 kb of rules? did you try exporting from 2003 and
importing to 2007?
