Why is SMTP suddenly not recognized?

My wife is using Outlook 2000 for email and suddenly is not able to send
email anymore because the SMTP server is not being recognized. I deleted the
service and re-entered the information but am still having the same problem.
I am using the same program on the same computer and same ISP and am not
having any problems. Any clues? Help would be much obliged.

Found out SBC is having problems and I switched to port 587 and fixed the
problem! So thanks anyway!
