Why is my typing delayed in Word

I just started using Word 2007 and I really hate it...When I type, it's
always delayed to actually getting on the page and I end up with something
like looks like this:

I wnt t te stre ls night.

I cannot figure out what to change to make it work right. Thanks for any
help.
 
You're the third person I've heard of with this problem who's running
McAfee... coincidence? Possibly... Try uninstalling McAfee and testing Word?

Oh I hope that's not it....I can't uninstall, at least not right now. And
what a pain in the neck that will be when I can. I don't even think I have
it in me to try to uninstall McAfee and deal with all the problems that's
going to create on my computer..

Thanks. Maybe I'll just get lucky and it will work for me today...lol....
