Why is my Outlook 2000 unable to open?

About 48 hours ago, I was using Outlook 2000 when I received a message
stating that outlook had encountered a problem and had to close. Since then,
I receive this message every time I attempt to open it. I did go online and
download updates, installed them...but this did not repair the problem. Can
you suggest anything that may help?

If you haven't rebooted you can try that first, sometimes with that error it
is simply Outlook still running even though it has been closed. The other
possibility is that an operating file has been corrupted (usually by a virus)
and will not allow outlook to open. You can try running liveupdate and then
a full system scan and attempt to clean any infected files. Other than that
I'd probably reinstall it, but that's me. Someone else may have a different
experience with this error. Cheers.
