Why is my Graphics Card as secondary?

I have Windows 8. My Radeon x1300/x1500 is listed as Radeon x1300/x1500 Series Secondary. I also have Microsoft Basic Display Adapter. It didnt show up as Secondary before I removed it and tryed another card out on gaming. Then I put this back it and had to click "show hidden items" in computer management to show it and it showed as secondary. Windows 8 already hates my graphics card, please help me get the old speeds back? I can definately tell it is slower than normal
