why is it when i type something in one word document it links to .

I opened a word document that was in use by another user and saved a copy.
Now when either document is chenged it automatically links to the other
document and makes the same changes. How did I do this and how do I get it
to stop? Thanks,

Hi Kimberly,

You probably didn't make a copy, but created a shortcut instead.
Save the document under a different name.

If you right-click on your two "documents", Properies > File type, you
should be able to tell what's the document and what's the shortcut (and
delete it).
