ASUS says its not supported

But when searching for info about S-ATA and hot plug, it found that
ICH5 on the 865 supports it and my HD seagate 120 GB does as well. The
last components the OS and the BIOS must as well support it. (I will
soon test Linux and XP)

Of course I must have a mobile rack also.
Thera are S-ATA controllers for example tekram (40 euros) that claims
support for hot plug. Is it just a BIOS and a driver issue or what ?
It seems that not many have tried this feature of S-ATA and thats
suprises me.

It's not supported due to the Windows IDE drivers. Blame Intel for not
releasing proprietary ones.
