Why is freeware so much fun?

Sometimes, not always, but still sometimes, I get more fun from
browsing freeware directories, downloading apps, trying them than I
get from almost any other activity I could do then.

Because it works better.

Speaking as a refuge from Norton suystem works,I find free ware better
thought out ., easier to use, and just plain old better than
commercial bloatware

These days I use sygate, avg, ewido, crapcleaner, easycleaner,
regseeker, adaware, spybot to keep the computer protected and in tune.
I would not go back to the commercial equivalents if you paid me, the
freeware versions just work so much better

True, some on hte list want you to use it and then by the commercial
version, and I'm all for that (puts it out of the free ware domain,
but what the heck if it is useful) Dvdinforpro has freware/sharewazre
versions, and i now use the shareware

Plus... if your new to a particular task ( like firewalls) I find the
help you get in comming up to speed in the freware forums just so much
better than what you get in the payware support. (True , some payware
has now started useful forum help), But for the general user, who is
just geetting started, nothing beats the good answers to the ill posed
question in ACF
