why have all logos in all documents been deleted

Let me say at the outset I'm pretty much a novice on the computer!
Working on my home pc, I was typing a long (40page) document recently that
contained text and lots of clip art. Besides getting into a complete muddle
with positioning / anchoring clip art, footnotes, endnotes and page numbers
I've also discovered that since doing this document all imported logo's on
every document throughout my whole system has been deleted!! Great! This
includes all Word documents and even all emails in Outlook Express ! The
space where the logos should be is just the border of a square box. I tried
emailing the logos from work to home thinking I'd just have to copy and paste
them into all the documents - but when I opened the logo attachment, gues
what, yep, the logo had gone and there was the empty box again!!!
Anyone know what's gone wrong and how to fix it???

You probably just have just set (accidentally or on purpose) to not show
pictures. From the TOOLS menu, choose OPTIONS; click on the VIEW tab; turn
OFF the option for PICTURE PLACEHOLDERS (in the Show section of options).
