Why dont any pictures show up in my emails?

When I get emails, either html or just with normal pictures, they dont show up.
When I try to insert a picture when sending an email, they dont show up
either.
Can someone help me!!!!

You first: what version of Outlook? WHat do you mean by "don't show up"?
Is it as though there is no image or do you see a place where the image
should go, but it's empty except for a red "X"?
